The Labour candidate for May 2024 in Rodbourne Cheney is Ana Fernandes.  Ana is hoping to join Will Stone and Jim Grant as Labour Councillors for the area. Ana says:

“I am so proud to announce that I have been selected as the Labour Party Candidate for Rodbourne Cheney Ward in the next election.

I am a resident of Swindon for over 20 years.  I work for the NHS and through the NHS I have organised Diabetes camps and health checks for people in Swindon. I also spent my time in assisting residents with form filling, council housing, setting up appointments with medical professionals and help in translation services.  I am presently a Parish Councillor for Ferndale and regularly help the community through food collections and donations, work with local charities, Harbour Projects, and groups in supporting community events and have also worked with Labour Councillors Jim and Will on ward issues such as speed limits, drugs trafficking, litter picks and cleaning up the Oasis.

I want to be able to represent the community that lives in Rodbourne Cheney as your Borough Candidate to bring changes and improvement, as well as representing  the views of the resident in the  ward.

I am passionate to develop the area and want to be a local voice, speaking on behalf of all residents who want to make the area a better place to live in and raise their families. I am so proud to have worked with Labour councillors.

I have dedicated my time to helping others by volunteering Citizens Advice Bureau. I am a core team member for Swindon Goan volunteers group, and Helping Hearts Group in Swindon. Last year I completed my 4th year of the Sleep Out Challenge, raising donations for the homeless, and I will continue to do Sleepout challenge every year.”

I am presently working along side with South and North Borough Councillors supporting them in different activities such as senior citizens groups, women days, Rose day, Afro dance  and Arts competition.

I understand the issues that you and other residents face, as your issues are my issues. We face them together. I firmly believe that I am the best person to represent you and Labour party. I have a solid record in campaigning for North Swindon Labour and have experience serving the public in my role as a Parish Councillor for the Ferndale Ward over the past year.
